It was a crazy week at work, but by the time I finally finished around 9pm last night I was done, and the next 42 hours have nothing to do and nowhere to be. Which is awesome and very needed. I kicked it off with a beer and watching a bit of footy with Temma until she went to bed, and I browsed YouTube videos. The best one was a _Great Art Explained_ episode about [[Francis Bacon]] which was very interesting. I went to bed about 11, and slept until nearly 6. Breakfast, make sure Dal was up, and then a bike a ride. It wasn't quite as ridiculously cold as yesterday and the rain held off until the very end, so it was quite pleasant to be out and about. The trails were wet and muddy though so I got mud sprayed up the back of my new MAAP jersey. I washed it as soon as I got home but it still had splatters which was pretty upsetting, but I sprayed stain remover on it and soaked it and washed it again with napisan and it came good. Phew. Temma was back at work after her holiday, so I had the house to myself for the rest of the day. More breakfast, shower, lunch, and then a nap. I probably read some stuff too, another chapter of [[The Odyssey]] amongst other things, and hung out the washing I'd done earlier. I finally got sick of the compost that no one wanted to deal with so took that out, and had to splash bleach around everywhere in the sink and the bucket to get rid of all the muck and maggots. Fun. At least the kitchen sinks are shiny clean now. Dal wanted to get his hair cut so when he got home from school and went up to see if they could fit him. She had a gap at 4:15, so we got a doughnut and went home for a bit, then I dropped him off and went to the park to try to take some photos. I haven't gone through them all yet, but I'm not expecting much. It was more an experiment to see what I could make of the local trees. Here's one that's ok: https://adobe.ly/4uw2bwU Bought fish and chips on the way home and while I was waiting for it Kian rang and asked me to get an extra fish. I think he'd come to pick up a parcel. And now I am sitting on the couch being irritated by Temma's football watching persona and wishing I was watching the bike race, which starts tonight. I guess I'll have to go upstairs and watch it on Jo's iMac. Tempted to have another beer but then I'll probably just want to go to sleep. That was a lot of words for a quiet and un-momentous day! I expect and hope for tomorrow to be equal uneventful, modulo basketball.
